Neil Smail - Conference Speaker
Neil Smail is a Canberra-based public relations practitioner and lobbying consultant. He has assisted companies lobby government on matters including financial regulations, health and defence purchasing.
As a former senior public servant he has seen lobbying from the recipient’s side, too. Initially a journalist, Neil worked in the Federal Government as a public affairs practitioner (including as a public diplomacy specialist in three Australian embassies), as head of government advertising and in positions in the arts, administrative services and services to parliamentarians.
Since leaving the government he has undertaken PR and lobbying work for many government agencies, the private sector and NGOs. He is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
